Session 2: Finding My Rhythm | Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 at Eagles Canyon Raceway (Clockwise)

Session 1 was about shaking off the rust. Session 2 was where everything started to click. After a couple of months away from Eagles Canyon Raceway, I finally settled back into a rhythm on the clockwise configuration. The braking points became more natural, the steering inputs smoother, and confidence grew with every lap. The challenge? My QuickJack failed before the event, so my Yokohama AD09 track tires never made it onto the car. Instead, I tackled the day on factory 20-inch wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport 4S street tires. Far from ideal… But that’s what HPDE is all about. You drive the car you brought. By the end of this session, the stopwatch showed a 2:22.67—only about three seconds off my personal best clockwise lap of 2:19.36, despite the street tires, time away from the track, and a completely different setup. Sometimes progress isn’t measured by a new personal best. Sometimes it’s measured by adapting to the circumstances and driving the wheels off what you’ve got.
