Chemistry Lab Tour! +Tips For Starting a Home Lab

Click Show More to see full story I'll be moving to the USA for university soon (in fact by the time you see this video I will have already left) so I thought it's time for me to do a quick tour of the lab I have built over the past 5 years. In addition to just being a lab tour, I did my best to provide some tips and guidance based on my experience that is aimed at helping out the new amateur chemist. These include waste disposal, chemical storage, what equipment to buy, safety, where to get certain chemicals and more. Some of these things aren't immediately obvious to the newcomer, and I hope they may help you avoid the same mistakes I did. Amateur chemistry is a rather niche and not widely appreciated hobby. Should you choose to pursue it, you will no doubt meet resistance from government regulations, neighbors/peers who think you're up to no good, or even your chemiphobic parents. However, I can tell you that as long as you push through these challenges, you will be rewarded with some of the most exciting experiences out there, and at the same time gain a fundamental understanding about the microscopic world that surrounds us.
