VCI Webinar: Emission Factors for GHG Accounting and Reporting

As companies strengthen their Scope 3 climate strategies, Emission Factors (EFs) are playing an increasingly important in greenhouse gas accounting, reporting, and decision-making across land-based value chains. This webinar presented key concepts from the publication, Emission Factors for GHG Accounting and Reporting, and present a structured approach to developing and applying EFs in complex supply chains. Participants learnt how different EF types can support more accurate, transparent, and decision-useful emissions reporting while addressing common challenges related to data quality, traceability, aggregation, and double counting. The session also explored how EFs can move beyond generic industry averages and to better reflect value chain realities and support credible climate action.
