Urban Sketching Totems in Duncan BC 🎨 2023 Vancouver Island Sketching Adventures 1

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing with you the first stop of my 2023 Vancouver Island trips. After 2 hours of ferry ride from Vancouver to Nanaimo, and another 45 minute drive, we arrived at Duncan, a city famous for its totem poles. Please watch the video until the end to see how I composed and rendered this urban sketch on location. It took me about 90 minutes to draw and paint. 🎨 Materials I used: Sailor Fude fountain pen, Noodler's brown 41 ink Etchr watercolors (24 half pans) Speedball Handbook Watercolor Journal Holbein Water Brush (large tip) Holbein water brush (medium tip) 🎨 I'm teaching online classes every week.
