The quadratus lumborum is the main cause of lower back pain. In this video, I introduce you to the quadratus lumborum (quadrant lumbar muscle). The quadratus lumborum's function is to stabilize and protect the lower back. Due to our everyday protective postures, the muscle tends to become tense on one side. The consequences are back pain and hip pain. The hip also deviates, and this can lead to a pelvic tilt.
