Sanyutei Ryuyaku Sanyutei Ryukaku, a rakugo storyteller, entered the world of rakugo in 1985 as an apprentice of Sanyutei Enraku 5th. In 1993, Ryukaku was promoted to shinuchi (a title recognized as a professional rakugo storyteller) and began his solo performances. He is the only storyteller that performs in 8 languages, including Japanese, French, Spanish, Italy, Dutch, German, Chinese and English. In the past, he has performed in 9 countries with over 55 cities. (Overseas performance counts more than 180.)
