AVALIAÇÃO - JEEP RENEGADE LONGITUDE 2026 - Melhor que Pulse, T-cross, Tiggo 5x e outros SUVS?

Without a doubt, the Jeep Renegade helped completely change the compact SUV segment here in Brazil. This is a 2025 Renegade Longitude, a mid-range version of the model. But, after so long in the same generation, is it still worth buying a car like this? To answer this question, we'll discuss all the pros and cons, and show you all the details of this car. ----------------------------------------- It may not seem like it, but it's been over 10 years since the Jeep Renegade was launched in Brazil. Over the years, the model has undergone two facelifts, the first in 2018 and the second in 2022, and it has consistently remained among the best-selling SUVs in its segment. Since its launch, more than 550,000 units have been sold. An impressive feat for a car that's not cheap at all. ----------------------------- The 2026 Jeep Renegade is sold in the following trim levels: SPORT - This is the entry-level version and, in my opinion, offers the best value, starting at R$118,000. ALTITUDE - These are the mid-range versions with 4WD. SAHARA - This is the top-of-the-line version with 4WD. Trailhawk - This is the 4WD version. Willys - Special 10th Anniversary, which celebrates 10 years of Jeep production in Brazil. ------------------------------------------------- Okay, Rodrigo, how much does a Renegade Longitude like this cost? At the time of recording this video, the model costs R$159,990. ---------------------- All trim levels use the excellent T270 1.3-liter turbo engine that generates 176 horsepower and 27.5 kgfm of torque, using both ethanol and gasoline. It's a super-modern engine, featuring direct injection, a variable valve timing system on the exhaust, and MultiAir technology on the intake, a technology developed by Fiat that electronically controls the opening and closing of the engine valves. It's an engine also used in other Jeep models, such as the Compass and Comander, as well as the Fiat Pulse Abarth, Fiat Fastback, and Fiat Toro. This shared parts system is a plus, as it helps with maintenance. While we're on the subject of maintenance, when this engine was launched, it was known for excessive oil consumption. But don't worry, that's a thing of the past, as Stellantes has fixed this problem. Like all engines in the FireFly family, it uses an overhead camshaft. And the performance, Rodrigo? Damn good! According to its specifications, it does 0-100 km/h in about 8.8 seconds and can reach 209 km/h. More than sufficient performance for a family SUV, without sporty pretensions. ------------------------------------------------------------------- GEARBOX The transmission is a conventional automatic with a 6-speed torque converter. I really liked the calibration of this transmission, and it also offers the option of manual shifting. In the 4x4 versions, the Renegade uses a 9-speed transmission, unlike the one in the video. -------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT ABOUT THE FUEL CONSUMPTION, RODRIGO? Since the Renegade is a very heavy car, weighing around 1,500 kg, fuel consumption suffers somewhat. Even so, it's good fuel consumption for the compact SUV segment. With ethanol, according to Inmetro, it gets 7.8 km/l in the city and 8.9 km/l on the highway. With gasoline, it gets 11.1 km/l in the city and 12.4 km/l on the highway. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The fuel tank holds a good 55 liters, which helps with range, especially on the highway. -------------------------------------------------------- At the front, the headlights are its highlight. They're full LEDs and provide excellent illumination. We drove it on the highway and were impressed by its good illumination. But here's a small flaw. For the price, it deserves fog lights, as well as front parking sensors. I personally really like the Jeep Renegade's look; it has that unique boxy shape, but we can't deny that it needs a new generation. The Renegade has already lost its novelty factor. And if we compare, its appearance isn't much different from a 2015 model. And we know that makes a difference, especially in a segment as competitive as compact SUVs.
