Building a Big Ranch Gate
I wanted to make a nice entrance to the Homeplace and decided to make a ranch gate to tie into my newly build 4 rail fence at the road frontage. I milled up some 12x12 @ 18' long southern yellow pine for the side posts and a 12x13 @ 20' long for the top beam. This was a fun build and pretty straightforward. Biggest challenge was handling such large and heavy beams! The finished product though was worth it...I really like how it came together.
