Video from the Long Island Parks Commission Originally created in 1924 the Long Island State Park Commission, also known as LISPC, was originally a standalone agency however in 1980 it was disolved and merged into the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. It is now a sub-division of the Parks department and is headquartered in Belmont State Park
