Gyrocopter take off practice - declutter your technique

If you follow the common online take off process its likely your head is full of things that have nothing to do with flying the aircraft. Sadly that process is well marketed and its part of the reason why almost 1 in 4 AutoGyro Cavalon's in the US have crashed. One thing that is overlooked by many is the mental capacity issues that low time and/or student pilots have. If you are the student how can you spot the problem? Well if you fly with an instructor who has created what seems an almost endless list of instructions and then stuck aide memoire's all over the aircraft then its safe to say if your instructor can't remember the list of actions then you aren't either! The excuse that these are checklists is unacceptable because once you're lined up on the active runway actions need to be done from memory. That is what I mean principly by the term "declutter".
