The Aareschlucht, or Aare George, is a unique and spectacular natural phenomenon. For thousands of years, the river (Aare) has cleaved through the high, solid limestone cliffs, forming two steep cliffs. We'll walk for 1.4 km on a small wooden bridge within the cliffs, beneath which the river flows swiftly. We won't stop there; we'll also continue our journey to Reichenbach Falls. This beautiful waterfall is located not too far from Aareschlucht. If you're already in Meiringen, here's the route you'll take: Meiringen - Aareschlucht (5 minutes by train) Aarenschlucht - Reichenbach Falls (30 minutes by bus/nostalgia train) I hope you enjoy it.
