Tamiya MF01X Ford Escort Mk2 First Run... Doesn't Go Well!

Hi there! Well, we took my newly built Tamiya Ford Escort MkII rally car (on the MF-01X chassis) to our local park for it's first run. I was joined by my son, Alf, and Rob Brennan for a share of the filming and driving. I was really looking forward to seeing how the MF-01X chassis handles on the dirt compared to my TT02 rally cars. However, we didn't get much footage as there was a problem with the new RC car, as you will see in the video. Hopefully I can get the issue sorted out and we can return soon for first run Mk2!!! About the Ford Escort Mk2 Rally car: The iconic Escort was manufactured between 1968 and 2004 by Ford Europe. The Mk.II was produced from 1975 to 1980, a front-engine, rear-wheel drive car with a classic boxy body. The RS1800 was fitted with a high performance DOHC 4-cylinder engine and became the base for a successful works team rally car that secured Manufacturers' and Drivers' championships in 1979.
