Zerocalcare: "Il mondo che ci ha reso cattivi è quello in cui ognuno salva solo se stesso"

Interview with Michele Rech for the release of his new Netflix series, entitled This World Won't Make Me Bad. Zerocalcare explains that he borrowed the title from a song by singer Path, included on the 2017 album Hombre Lobo Sessions. "The world that made us bad is one in which, at a certain point, we thought there was no way to save ourselves all together, and everyone thought about saving themselves. And so, by elbowing each other, by stepping over someone else, this stuff inevitably makes you worse," he states. On topics such as ethnic substitution and Nazi violence by far-right groups in the Roman suburbs: "There was a period in which it seemed like history. Then, however, while we were working on it, a whole series of issues came back into the spotlight. Starting with the term ethnic substitution. I'm not particularly surprised because I think that everything that was sown at a certain point had to come back. Things don't disappear into thin air, even if I would have preferred it to have aged."
