Musicians, painters, researchers, philanthropists present a series of charity concerts and visual performances with a view to salvaging the rare collections and breathing a new life into them. Puzzles of Eternity project has come to life out of a new cycle in Ukraine’s history, through wonderful people who have become its integral part. T h e P r o j e c t A i m s: To raise funds in order to establish a public multilingual archive of sheet music from the “Bach Archive” Collection and to restore Pinzel’s legacy: both the museum and all the sculptures by the master, which with years are falling prey to weather conditions, barbarous ‘restorations’, wood-fretters, illegal collectors. Two young violinists that perform jazz arrangements of Johann Sebastian Bach’s works to a video showcasing Jogann Georg Pinzel’s creations epitomize the identity of the “Puzzles of Eternity” Project. Two Violinists Duo is comprised of 12-year-old violinists Illia Bondarenko and Tetiana Zhmendak. Music for them is a mission to transform and shape the world. Hence, the musicians’ intensive charitable activity particularly since last winter: performances in Maidan, the central square of Kyiv, regular charity concerts to support the wounded, refugees and military. It was during the events in Maidan that a jazz arrangement of the famous Ukrainian “Shchedrik”, a Christmas carol, was born being inspired by the best Ukrainian jazz pianist Natalia Lebedeva. Amidst the days of Maidan, Igor Gaidai’s “Maidan. Faces of Freedom” photo collection appeared. The same time saw the first ideas for the “Puzzles of Eternity” project come to life. This time TwoVilonists perform the function of the envoys of the new generation of young Ukrainians that present the true face of Ukraine to the world. We sincerely believe and are perfectly sure that the time for a Ukrainian cultural breakthrough has arrived now. Nowadays cultural initiatives are the most potent form of informational resistance. What shapes the true image of Ukraine in the world is such large-scale and much wanted projects as the “Puzzles of Eternity”. This is a brave mature step especially worth notice in this dramatic period of the Ukrainian history while a war is going on – a war for a just new life, new values, for Man and Light. The Program includes: Jazz arrangements of Johann Sebastian Bach’s works and Ukrainian folklore, as well as jazz standards arranged by Natalia Lebedeva. Aaron Goldberg solo. The pianist is one of the first people who participated the “Puzzles of Eternity” Project. And now, he plays with us in the United Nations Library. You'll also watch the video exhibitions of the photos by Igor Gaidai, video by Zinaida Likhacheva and masterpieces of Johann Georg Pinzel. One Ukraine-born man already placed his piece of the puzzle in the pattern of Eternity – this was the unrivalled Vladimir Horowitz, who rescued Verdi’s house in Milan. To date this Mecca of Italian music is embellished with a plaque bearing the words of gratitude to the ingenious pianist and his wife Wanda Toscanini. Another Ukrainian has rescued thousands of invaluable art works, among which are the incomparable Pinzel’s pieces, which remain unprotected even in a most modest way. His name is Boris Voznitsky. There are also the names of all those who are piecing together puzzles of Eternity by partaking of its spaces of no boundaries and preserving it for future. For some inconceivable reason mankind is designed to remember and engrave the names of tyrants, leaders, warriors. However, we fail to remember those without whom life would be void – a life without spirituality, beauty and flying. A life without Eternity. This is exactly why we are decisive in getting this complicated road of cultural resistance and activity underway. After all, the world where children initiate change is bound to succeed. God will send His light to bless and fill their way with His Love.
