Qodosen DX-286 Radio Modified and Improved
Today, we will have fun! In this video, I show the best pocket-size radio 2024 - the Qodosen DX-286 model, and, for the first time, demonstrate the design modifications and improvements I made. I used a bigger enclosure and made the following design improvements: The radio now plays audio sound in stereo. The loudness and bass extension were greatly improved. The sensitivity on AM band was improved by 3-5 dB due to the large 7.5" ferrite bar antenna. The sensitivity on both FM and SW bands was improved by 3-8 dB due to the dual whip (dipole) antenna. The playback time at low volumes was increased by a factor of two due to the use of a 26650 Li-Ion battery. This video demonstrates that even old-fashioned radios can be improved by using modern (and very old too...) technologies, and this can be the inspiration for the new generation of electrical engineers.
