Some views of the amazing old 1910/1935 (m. 1992) Tr. Elevator/Lift@As OY Albatross, Turku, Finland

Note: This lift is truly unique, because it has manual inner doors, rather than a gate! And it really feels like a birdcage, plus, it is octagonal, and the lift shaft is circular :) It is the only functional lift in this residential building. Unfortunately, the original 1910 lift in the other staircase has been decommissioned, probably in 1992 when they modernized this one. The most special thing about this residential building is the fact that it was the first in Turku to feature an elevator, in 1910! I think the reason why they couldn't keep the other lift is that they didn't have sufficient funds to modernize this one, and it was probably also very old and creaky, so they decided to remove it, rather than modernizing it, which I think was a very bad decision, since that 1910 lift was historically valuable, and the staircase actually has 8 floors in total, and no lift reaching all the floors!
