Altama Maritime Assault Review & Other River Shoe Options
#rivershoes #notwatershoes #wildwaterriverguides Astral and NRS (not anymore?) make great river shoes, I step away from the mainstream and try some other brands you maybe have never heard of. Trying to find the ultimate river shoe! My main criteria for a shoe that I would confidently wear running any river has to have the best traction, good ankle support, and hopefully last at least a season or more. I've been trying out a shoe that i've never seen on the river before, the Altama OTB Maritime Assault Boot Mid Cut, since April 2022. I can claim over 40 days in the river with these shoes over the last few months and have come to a conclusion that they check at least two of the three boxes I want. But I really need something that can check all three, so I tried some other uncommon shoes. Eventually I (and my wallet) decided it was time to get the best of the best.
