JAKARTA, KOMPASTV – The transfer of the alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) case involving a former Attorney General's Office official with the initials FA from the National Police to the Attorney General's Office has drawn attention. Feri Amsari, a lecturer in Constitutional Law at Andalas University, believes the process is a normal legal mechanism, but it also poses a test of the Attorney General's Office's independence. "For me, this is certainly a process that must be followed. That's the mechanism. After the police, it will go to the Attorney General's Office, and if everything is deemed appropriate, it will be tried in court," said Feri. According to him, a case of this magnitude is unlikely to involve only two individuals. "Normally, a corruption crime of this magnitude doesn't involve one or two individuals. This is a group crime that the Attorney General's Office must uncover," he said. "This case is proof of what Mr. Prabowo has repeatedly said as President of the Republic of Indonesia: that under his administration, there can be no more playing around with corruption. Whoever it is, whatever the official, whatever the institution, if they are involved in corruption, they must be thoroughly investigated," said Sugiat.
