S3 E1 British Finescale Double Slip Kit Build

Hello everyone, In this episode I build-up a Double Slip from a British Finescale kit. The video is quite lengthy as I've tried to include as much detail as possible for novice track builders to appreciate what's involved. Maybe try watching a 2x speed to skip through it more quickly. The kit builds up beautifully and is very well thought through. Very basic tools are required to assemble the kit, but I would recommend using good quality track cutters, and taking care to finish the rail ends nice and squarely. If that is done then the rails slip into place with very little trouble. The kit took me about 3 hours to put together, but only because I was filming the process. Had I just built the thing I probably would have done it in half the time. I have made a couple of mistakes with the build, which I will correct in the next episode. Neither are major, but are worthy of mentioning here: 1: I installed the point and splice rails the wrong way around - easy fix, just swap them. 2: I orientated the spacer block incorrectly when soldering the switches to the tiebars, resulting in an ever so slightly larger gap. Again, not the end of the world, but I will fix them properly and show what I've done in the next episode. I highly recommend these kits to anyone who hasn't built their own track before and/or who might be interested in trying something a little finer than the products from the mainstream manufacturers. Thanks for watching, James Here's a link to my previous turnout building video:    • S2 E28 Starting in P4 | Bexhill West Model...   Here's links to a couple of the tools I used in the video: Xuron 2175BTrack Cutters - these are very good. If you buy (or already have) a pair try to keep them just for cutting track to ensure the cutting edges stay nice for as long as possible. https://amzn.to/4ojzpNp Maun Parrallel Action Pliers - these are brilliant, highly recommended. https://amzn.to/3LjJB9Z
