This episode traces the journey of a queen who danced her way into history—bold, beautiful, and unforgettable. ಶಾಂತಲಾ ದೇವಿ 12 ನೆಯ ಶತಮಾನದ ಹೊಯ್ಸಳ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದ ರಾಣಿ. ರಾಜಾ ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನನ ಪತ್ನಿ. ನಾಟ್ಯ, ಕಲೆ ಸಂಗೀತ ಪ್ರವೀಣೆಯಾದ ಈಕೆ ‘ನಾಟ್ಯರಾಣಿ ಶಾಂತಲಾ’ ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನ ಶಾಂತಲಾ ದೇವಿಯರ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಯ್ಸಳ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾದವು. ಬೇಲೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚೆನ್ನಕೇಶವ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಜಯ ನಾರಾಯಣನ ದೇವಾಲಯ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಹೊರಾಂಗಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ವತಃ ಶಾಂತಲೆಯೇ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ್ದಳು. ಶಾಂತಲೆ ನೃತ್ಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಇಂದು ಸಹ ಚೆನ್ನಕೇಶವನ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಟ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಂಗಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆತ್ತಲಾಗಿರುವ ಶಿಲಾಬಾಲಿಕೆಯರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಶಾಂತಲಾ ದೇವಿಯ ಸ್ವರೂಪವೇ ಆಗಿ ಅವಳ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿವೆ. ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನ ಶಾಂತಲೆಯ ರೂಪದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಭಾವಿತನಾಗಿ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ರಾಣಿ ಶಾಂತಲಾ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನು 1117 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಮಹಾದೇವಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಿರೀಟಧಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಶಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಯಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಶಾಂತಲಾ ದೇವಿ, ವೈಯುಕ್ತಿಕ ದುಮ್ಮಾನಗಳಿಂದ ಜೈನ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಸಲ್ಲೇಖನಾ ವ್ರತವನ್ನ ಆಚರಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಾಣ ತ್ಯಾಗ ಮಾಡಿದಳು ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. #NatyaRaniShanthala #HoysalaDynasty #IndianHistory #Bharatanatyam #QueenOfDance #ClassicalDance #IndianQueens #WomenInHistory #CulturalHeritage #DanceLegends
