This was a complete surprise, as this seems to be a tape over from some FOX stuff recorded in the late 90s. And you know what? I'm completely okay with that, if only because this gives me a pretty profound sense of nostalgia. Keep in mind that I grew up during the CHECK IT era, and this was around the time when I started really watching CN. (speaking of which, CN portion starts at 1:07:16) Most of this tape is Toonami, with tons of bumpers and promos for both it and Adult Swim. Notable stuff includes The Venture Bros. fifth season DVD/Blu-Ray, the Adult Swim Funhouse, an insanely bizarre concept that I can't tell whether I love or hate, and some early promos for Rick and Morty, which was only a little more than 4 months on the air at the time. There's some Uncle Grandpa and Regular Show promos too during the Cartoon Network portion, as well as promos for daylight savings time. (which, fun fact, cut about an hour off the Toonami block, leading to more CN being taped here). Oh yeah, and tons of promotions for Mixels, something I remember very well and wasn't a huge fan of. The bumpers during the CN section I also remember vividly, and it's super neat seeing them again. In terms of actual ads, there's lots of surreal stuff to be seeing on a VHS tape of all things. Xbox One and PS4 ads, movie ads for Rio 2, Muppets Most Wanted, those Chuck-E-Cheese ads with the disgusting, realistic CGI mouse, those The Real Cost PSAs, the Progressive ads with the talking Progressive box, and probably everything else that I recall way more vividly than I should. Tons of fun stuff to look back on here, that's for sure, heheh.
