In cities, cars emit polluting exhaust fumes, while factories release fumes and chemicals into the atmosphere. This pollution leads to health problems, including respiratory diseases like asthma, particularly affecting children and the elderly. Water is also contaminated by industrial and agricultural waste, making drinking water scarce and expensive. Pollution also impacts the environment. Fish die in polluted rivers, and forests wither due to acid rain. Plastic waste, which takes centuries to decompose, threatens marine life and, indirectly, humans. To combat this scourge, initiatives exist: promoting public transportation, laws limiting factory emissions, and individual actions such as recycling and energy conservation. Pollution is a crucial challenge, requiring awareness and concrete actions to reduce it.
