F. Chopin, Ballade no. 1 op. 23. Dress Rehearsal. Steinway D.
Here is my best take so far of this piece. Came back to it after 2 years break to include in my upcoming recital. This Ballade is very dear to me. I find it to be a perfect piano piece. It has a vast variety of distinct characters, from utterly passionate to majestically noble and to most delicate moments of pure poetry. This piece contains grand moments of virtuosity, but also has plenty of contemplative narratives, which allow the piano to sing and for subtitles of piano sound palette to shine. Absolutely marvelous genius work by Frédéric Chopin in which every note has the deepest meaning, in my humble opinion. it's an older Steinway D, I like how gently it sounds.
