The trail included an urban section, which was runnable, but even the slightest incline was incredibly difficult. I started too fast, and the first climb was brutal. From then on, I tried to maintain a decent pace, but every steep section was punishing. The terrain was quite good, and the early morning fog gave way to sunshine by race time, which made a noticeable difference. The goal was to run at a fast but not limiting pace, and to maintain my speed on the climbs, which wasn't possible. However, my final time was better than expected. I was aiming for 14k, but I ended up doing almost 15k. It was a very good average pace, but every climb was still incredibly challenging. I just need to work on the climbs, so I'm happy. I suffered a bit, but I finished with plenty of stamina and no discomfort. Now I'll see how the next 10k run goes.
