Moving on to the practical part! In this video, we will solve exercise number 1 on the topic of trigonometry in a right-angled triangle. We will learn how to take a triangle where we are given one perpendicular and an acute angle and calculate the other two sides. In the video, we will practice identifying the roles of the sides (which is the perpendicular opposite, which is the perpendicular next to and which is the other) and understand which formulas are most correct to use. The special emphasis of this exercise: What do we do when our unknown reaches the denominator? We will learn the cross multiplication method, and I will show you two different ways to solve it on a calculator – the fast and accurate way, and a second and more friendly way for those who are not yet comfortable with English letters in the denominator.
