Henry Winkler presents Garry Marshall with the Writers Guild TV Laurel Award

Henry Winkler (Happy Days) presents Garry Marshall (Happy Days, The Odd Couple) with the Writers Guild of America, West's 2014 Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award. The writer-director gives his advice for writing and recalls how writing a sketch for Lucille Ball and the Writers Guild Awards show helped him get ahead. The Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television Writing Achievement is given to that member of the Guild who, in the opinion of the current Board of Directors, has advanced the literature of television through the years, and who has made outstanding contributions to the profession of the television writer. The 2014 Writers Guild Awards West Coast ceremony was hosted by three-time Emmy-winning Everybody Loves Raymond actor-comic Brad Garrett on Saturday, February 1, 2014, in Los Angeles at the JW Marriott L.A.
