Burnout is affecting a growing number of IT workers. Despite great salaries, comfortable working conditions, ergonomic chairs, and fruit Tuesdays, many people lose motivation to perform their duties. Especially those passionate about their work. It doesn't have to be this way! Passion can burn within you without burning you out. You just have to be careful with that fire. During this presentation, I'll share my own experiences, how to recognize the alarming symptoms of burnout, and what the WHO says about it. A programmer, she has been involved in the IT industry for over a decade. She gained experience in Poland and the United States. She has worked on numerous international projects—from telecommunications to fintech to e-commerce. In 2018, she struggled with burnout, a year later founded the Testing School, and in 2021, she published the book "Kierunek Jakość." When she's offline, she rides her bike, hikes with her dog, or practices yoga. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
