Edwin Fischer plays Bach Preludium - Fantasie BWV 922

Edwin Fischer was renowned for making alterations to Bach; either adding bass notes in octaves or playing in a different register for accentuation and richness-of-the-sound reasons against what the scores suggested. His rendition of the Preludium BWV 922 in A-minor is a good example of this and his controversial perception of Bach. Compared to the edition of Breitkopf (1851-99), he performs an extremely altered version, which led to the fact that I was not able to post the scores in the video instead of his still photograph, as he not only added the second hand as the octave key together with changing the register but literally omitted quite some bars as well. Regardless of the above, I take his wonderful musicianship embedded in his modifications of the composer, as an invaluable contribution to our Bach listening pleasure of today. Cheers! PS: Anybody having a relatively closer edition to what he's playing, would be appreciated to post it as a reference document. ~~~ .
