Augmented Reality for FIRST Tech Challenge

Electric Mayhem Robotics has developed a system that brings the advantages of Augmented Reality (AR) to the FIRST Tech Challenge field. The system lets robot programmers, drive coaches, and other team members to easily take field diagrams of robot odometry and path data off of the screen and directly onto a real FTC field. Using a four-projector system, the project maps graphics onto the field one-to-one, allowing for diagrams to be viewed in physical space. The AR Compositor software takes the field one step further. Providing a direct, real-time connection to FTC scoring software, the Compositor provides a set of dynamic graphics that react to match events, scores, and results. They also provide extensions to the FTC game through dynamic scoring elements. The software is also able to control a light strip around the field for further effects. Questions?
