The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Medina, and the Ansar welcomed him and built the Prophet's Mosque. #Arab_Eyes_Channel Chapter on the Migration from Mecca to Medina Az-Zuhri said, on the authority of Urwah, on the authority of Aisha, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said—while he was in Mecca at the time—to the Muslims: “I have been shown the place of your migration. I have been shown a salt marsh with palm trees between two lava fields.” So those who had migrated before Medina did so when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned this, and those Muslims who had migrated to Abyssinia returned to Medina. Narrated by Al-Bukhari. Abu Musa said, on the authority of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “I saw in a dream that I was migrating from Mecca to a land with palm trees. I thought it was Al-Yamamah or Hajar, but it turned out to be Medina (Yathrib).” This hadith has been narrated by Al-Bukhari in other places in its entirety. It was narrated by Muslim, both of them: on the authority of Abu Kurayb. Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr al-Bayhaqi said: Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu al-Abbas al-Qasim ibn al-Qasim al-Sayyari informed us in Marw, Ibrahim ibn Hilal narrated to us, Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated to us, Isa ibn Ubayd al-Kindi narrated to us, on the authority of Ghaylan ibn Abdullah al-Amiri, on the authority of Abu Zur'ah ibn Amr ibn Jarir, on the authority of Jarir: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “God revealed to me: Whichever of these three lands you settle in will be the place of your migration: Medina, Bahrain, or Qinnasrin.” The scholars said: Then he resolved for him to go to Medina, so he commanded his companions to migrate there. This is a very strange hadith. It was narrated by al-Tirmidhi in his al-Manaqib (Virtues) in his Jami’ (Collection), on the authority of Abu ‘Ammar al-Husayn ibn Hurayth, on the authority of al-Fadl ibn Musa, on the authority of ‘Isa ibn ‘Ubayd, on the authority of Ghaylan ibn ‘Abd Allah al-‘Amiri, on the authority of Abu Zur’ah ibn ‘Umar ibn Jarir, on the authority of Jarir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah revealed to me: Whichever of these three places you reside in, it will be the place of your migration: Medina, Bahrain, or Qinnasrin.” Then he said: It is strange; we know it only from the hadith of al-Fadl, and Abu ‘Ammar is the only one who narrated it. I say: This Ghaylan ibn ‘Abd Allah al-‘Amiri was mentioned by Ibn Hibban in al-Thiqat (The Reliable Narrators), except that he said: Abu Zur’ah narrated a rejected hadith from him concerning the migration. And Allah knows best. Ibn Ishaq said: When God Almighty permitted war, as He said: {Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought, because they were wronged. And indeed, God is fully capable of giving them victory. Those who were expelled from their homes without right, only for saying, “Our Lord is God”} [Al-Hajj: 39-40]. When God permitted war, this group of the Ansar (Helpers) followed him in Islam and pledged their support to him and to those Muslims who had followed him and sought refuge with them. The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded his companions from among the Muhajirun (Emigrants) from his tribe and those Muslims who were with him in Mecca to leave for Medina, to migrate there and join their brothers, the Ansar. He said, “God has provided you with brothers and a safe haven.” So they went there in groups, while the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) remained in Mecca, awaiting his Lord’s permission to leave Mecca and migrate to Medina. The first of the Companions of the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) to migrate to Medina from among the emigrants of Quraysh was: From the Banu Makhzum: Abu Salamah Abdullah ibn Abd al-Asad ibn Hilal ibn Abdullah ibn Umar ibn Makhzum. His migration to Medina was a year before the Pledge of Aqaba, when the Quraysh persecuted him upon his return from Abyssinia. He resolved to return to them, but then he learned that they had brothers in Medina, so he decided to go there. Ibn Ishaq said: My father told me, on the authority of Salama ibn Abdullah ibn Umar ibn Abi Salama, on the authority of his grandmother Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that she said: When Abu Salama decided to leave for Medina, he saddled his camel for me, placed me on it, and put my son Salama ibn Abi Salama in my lap.
