An Opel Vectra-C 2.8 OPC (2007, 206 kW, 229,000 km) is in the workshop. A friend of mine, an automotive mechatronics engineer, worked on the car for two years – without success. Two years ago, the problems started here: According to the error log, there were problems with the camshaft sensors on banks 1 and 2. The sensors were replaced – without success. New spark plugs and ignition coils also didn't solve the problem. The next idea was the timing chain (which was indeed stretched), and in the process, it became clear that the car didn't have enough compression on one cylinder. Now a completely new engine was needed! But even with a NEW engine (from Saab), the camshaft sensors were again listed as the problem! He then checked the entire wiring harness – but everything was fine. So the only thing left was the control unit. But even a new control unit (used from England) didn't bring any success. What madness!! 😳 In the end, all the master mechanics from Holger's workshop were called in for advice. And together with Aljosha, Robin, and Pino, Holger tracked down the problem.
