Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway 28/07/2021

A summer trip to "Kent's Mainline in Miniature" never fails to impress and this year is no exception, as the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway welcomed the summer holiday traffic. Like many heritage railways, the RH&DR are not currently offering complete freedom of the line tickets for passengers. Instead offering a variety of 'journey' options that passengers can choose between; such as a Hythe to New Romney return, or a Hythe to Dungeness return. This still allows passengers a great freedom in travelling the railway, while also allowing the RH&DR to regulate passenger numbers to avoid overcrowding. In total, 5 locomotives would grace the rails to deliver the Summer Orange timetable, with steam and diesel represented. Frequent locomotive swaps at New Romney on northbound services would also allow passengers a variety of traction for their trip.
