Si Entiendes el Tabernáculo, Entiendes el Evangelio Entero
I was counting the chapters of Exodus the other day and I got stuck on something rather absurd: the Bible resolves the creation of the entire universe in two chapters, and spends thirteen explaining how to pitch a tent in the desert. Thirteen. That got stuck in my head: what fits inside a canvas tent that's worth more text than the stars? The more I dug, the more that tent ceased to be just a tent. ——— 📖 Passages Cited Exodus 25:8-9 and 25:40 (God asks for a sanctuary to dwell in the midst of the people, according to the pattern shown on the mountain) Exodus 40:34-35 (the glory of the Lord fills the newly finished tent, and not even Moses can enter) Genesis 2:15, with Numbers 3:7-8 (to work and to keep, the same verbs as the service of the priests) Genesis 3:24 (the cherubim guarding the entrance to Eden) Hebrews 8:5 (the priests serve a copy and shadow of heavenly things) John 10:9 (I am the gate) Leviticus 16 (the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, with the blood on the mercy seat) Hebrews 10:4 (it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins) Hebrews 9:11-12 (Christ enters the sanctuary with his own blood, once for all) Matthew 27:51 (the veil of the temple is torn in two, from top to bottom) John 1:14 (the Word became flesh and dwelt among us) Revelation 21:3 (behold, the tabernacle of God is with men) ——— 📚 Sources 📚 G.K.
