Seiko SNXS73 refinished, early 7s26 movement made in Singapore.

This was a second hand purchase some 18 months ago that was languishing in a watch box until I watched a video from Dave at Just the Watch, my example is a very early model with a 7s26a movement made in Singapore (who knew!). He updated the strap on his example, an snxs79 I believe, that made a big difference to the looks. Spurred in to action (sort of) I took the watch out and refinished the case sympathetically and replaced the scratched crystal. Using a link from Dave I ordered a replacement bracelet, and while not the last word in luxury it was an improvement over the woeful strap the watch came supplied with. Finally I polished the original Seiko end links (the brushed finish on the original always jarred) to provide a more cohesive and fluent appearance to the watch case. I started my automatic watch journey with a 7s25 Seiko 5 and I believe these watches will be sorely missed in the marketplace. If you can forgive the shortcomings in the movement (no hacking or hand winding) they are a viable purchase in 2022, not least for the value proposition but also the many different styles and finishes. many of the more popular models are no longer available and the rest will slowly fade away in to obscurity.
