Creativity can express itself in many ways. In every classic craft there are also artists, pioneers, people who break new ground and often create their works independently of everyday utility. Birgit Sahner from Kördorf in the Taunus region creates small works of art from sheep's wool. She felts "nature creatures" with it: Dwarves, gnomes, elves and goblins populate her workshop. The felt artist shows us step by step how to create one of these natural creatures from dyed wool, how to felt wet and how to felt dry, and how to combine the two techniques. She tells us what to look for in the soapy water and why you should always have a few felting needles in reserve. Above all, she introduces us to the process of creative felting, to the special possibilities that lie in this artistic-craft form of expression.
