dayofni vs Spawnoza: 2024 Q1 Beginner Tak Tournament Finals - Live Commentary - Game 1

This is Game 1 of the Finals match between dayofni and Spawnoza in the January 2024 Beginner Tak Tournament. This is the first game of the Finals and each player has battled to get here through the Quarterfinals and Semifinals, both with blitz tiebreakers thrown in. Whoever wins this 2-game match will be the winner of the whole tournament and get first pick of the prizes! 0:00 Introduction 4:31 Game 1 This is the 2024 January Beginner Tak Tournament, which is played on a 6x6 board with a 15-minute time limit for each player and a 10-second increment per turn. These are 2-game matches, so the players get a chance to play as each color when facing each opponent. The tournament was played in six round-robin groups with the winner of each group moving on to a single-elimination playoff bracket. The two players who received a perfect score in their groups had a BYE in the Quarterfinals and moved on to the Semifinals. The first-place winner of this tournament gets their pick of the Wolf and Hawk metal capstones or a 2nd Edition Tak Set(provided by Greater Than Games) as a prize with second place taking what remains. Additionally, there is a drawing for 4 random players who completed all of their games to win either a paperback copy of Mastering Tak: Level 1 or a high-level game review from a top player.
