Insomniac - Darker, Edgier, Angrier
In 1995, Green Day was in a strange spot. Their major label debut "Dookie" released in 1994 was a massive success and launched the band into stardom. However the band was ousted from the punk community of the San Francisco Bay Area, and labeled as sellouts. Coupled with major changes in the members' lives, Green Day decided to channel them into their follow-up record: Insomniac. An album that was darker, edgier, and angrier.
