According to it, we can see that the students spend 8.7 hours a day on sleeping, which is more than one-third of a day. We can also see that they spend 6.4 hours on studying and learning, and 3.8 hours on social and leisure activities. Obviously, American students put a lot of emphasis on sleeping, valuing the importance of it especially to the growth of teenagers. In addition, the time they spend on leisure and social activities is also much more than we do in Taiwan. Last but not least, the American students spend 1.5 hours on part-time jobs. It is also quite different from the students in Taiwan since we seldom do part-time jobs when we are in high schools. Basically, the biggest difference between my day and American high schoolers’ is that I spend much less time sleeping. I only sleep 5 to 6 hours a day because I have to go to school and then cram school, which takes me 13 hours a day. After I go home, I still have to finish all my homework so that I am allowed to go in bed. This is the reason why I always feel so tired and stressed out, but I have no solution to my weariness since seemingly every high school student in Taiwan faces the same daily routine. I wish I could have more time to take a break, let alone having some leisure time.
