One Woman’s Extraordinary 🇮🇹 COLLECTION Honors Piemonte's Rural Past

Remember that scene from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," when the children first step into his world of pure imagination? That's how I felt when I entered the museum at La Pomera, an agriturismo in the beautiful Monferrato countryside. Housed in a former hayloft, this extraordinary collection of antiques and artifacts—amassed over more than 30 years by the family's matriarch, Gabriella Trisoglio—has been lovingly curated into a series of vignettes that tell the story of rural life in Piemonte, Italy. I was lucky enough to get a private tour, and honestly, I could have spent hours up there. Many of the items on display are things I've seen at flea markets and thrift stores throughout northern Italy, but I never understood their origin, use and/or purpose. This visit answered a lot of questions and gave me a whole new appreciation for the stories behind these everyday objects and the lives they once touched.
