I Gave Vampire Survivors 1 Hour... Now I Get Why It’s So Addictive

I finally gave Vampire Survivors the 1 Hour Test, and honestly, I get it now. This game is simple to start, but once the screen starts filling up with enemies, weapons, upgrades, numbers, and chaos, it becomes a lot to follow. There were definitely moments where I felt overwhelmed and had trouble keeping track of everything happening, but even with that, I still had a lot of fun. During the recording, I switched over to using a controller, which felt better for this kind of gameplay. I also turned off the flashing effects for photosensitivity reasons, since the game can get extremely busy visually. I do not think Vampire Survivors is something I would turn into a full series on its own, but as a one-hour backlog test, it was a great time. It is addictive, weirdly satisfying, and I can absolutely see why it became so popular. This is part of my 1 Hour Test series, where I try games from my backlog for one hour to see if they hook me, surprise me, or make me want to come back for more. [00:17] — Starting the very first run and figuring out the chaotic mechanics. [02:14] — Pausing to swap to a controller for smoother maneuvering. [13:05] — Realizing weapons have secret combinations and evolutions. [19:33] — Discovering the infamous Garlic for the first time. [38:16] — Discussing the upcoming 64GB RAM upgrade to help with heavier games. [43:26] — The inevitable first death after surviving much longer than expected. [51:27] — Getting pulled into the classic "just one more run" loop. [01:02:27] — The final verdict: keeping the channel varied by not making this a full series, but definitely keeping it for off-camera downtime.
