Fernando, waiting over one hour for his wife in library at Salinas' residence, is talking with Lorenzo. After a while, he leaves the library with relatively good mood. Bernarda and Isabel are in bedroom and Bernarda explains to Isabel, that she has to behave normally, like nothing happened. Bernarda explains, that Fernando mustn't take any suspicion, that Isabel is guilty of no children in the Salinas' family. In the middle of the conversation between Bernarda and Isabel, Fernando enters the bedroom. Isabel calms Fernando down and assures him, that everything is allright. Bernarda explains, that the long discussion between her and Isabel is about women wisdom, treated from generation to generation and it is regarding pregnancy, nursing babies, etc. She promises Fernando, Isabel will join him soon in library.
