Zircon3D v2.2: Custom Models, Smart Controls & 3D Floorplans for Home Assistant

In this video, we introduce Zircon3D v2.2, a new release focused on making your Home Assistant 3D floorplan more flexible, interactive, and easier to edit. This update adds custom `.glb` model upload, Simple Objects, more smart device control cards, Room Box View, multiple selection, plus many bug fixes and performance improvements. With Custom Model Upload, you can import your own Blender `.glb` models into Zircon3D and use them in your 3D floorplan. This is useful for adding custom furniture, equipment, appliances, greenhouse objects, facility assets, or any 3D model that better represents your real space. For better performance, we recommend using low-poly 3D models, especially when adding many custom models to the same project. The new Simple Object feature allows you to create editable cube-style objects directly in the scene. You can adjust the width, depth, and height to any size, and apply colors or textures. This is very useful for quickly creating platforms, blocks, partitions, equipment placeholders, custom structures, or simple building elements without preparing a separate 3D model. We also added more Smart Device Control Cards for Home Assistant entities. You can now control covers, climate devices, locks, and fans directly from the 3D view. For example, you can control garage doors, windows, blinds, shades, air conditioners, heat pumps, door locks, and fans. The Light Card is also enhanced with color and brightness percentage controls. Colored status bubbles on the floorplan make important states easy to notice, such as an open window, open garage door, or unlocked door. Room Box View gives you a cleaner room-level visualization by displaying rooms as colored box-style blocks. This can help you visually separate different rooms, zones, or functional areas. In the next version, we plan to connect Room Box View with monitoring sensor data, so room colors can represent values such as temperature, humidity, occupancy, or other room-level data. The new Multiple Selection feature allows you to hold Ctrl and select multiple objects or rooms, then move or delete them together. This makes editing larger floorplans faster and more convenient. This release also includes many bug fixes and performance improvements to make the Zircon3D Designer and Viewer smoother and more stable.
