Horse Training on the Circle

this video is part of a series of Unpeeling the Partnership - navigating the first day, week, month, year with your horse. Here we look at a 9-year-old Thoroughbred mare on her second day in a new environment. Every horse, regardless of its age or level of training, gets an opportunity for a restart when it first comes into our barn. Most of the time horses do not stay in the same home for the duration of their life. They go from being at their damn side to the first training home/ experience, commonly changing homes multiple times in their lifetime. New humans, new management, farm environment, new pasture mates. At TWT, We emphasize empathy, thinking about what it must be like to be uprooted time and time again. our method gives the horse the opportunity to be introduced to everything that is different in a way that is as stress-free as possible.
