🔊 Almost everyone has heard the popular term "white patch," but few people know what it really is! 🇺🇸 In Brazil, the term "white patch" is commonly used to describe a skin condition with white patches on the body, usually on the back. ☀️ These patches are generally noticed after sun exposure, whether at the beach, pool, river, or while playing sports. This is because when a person tans a little, some areas of the skin don't tan, and white patches become evident. 👨🏻‍⚕️ For us dermatologists, "white patch" is actually called pityriasis versicolor and is a skin condition caused by fungi, or in other words, a mycosis. 🎬 In this video, I explain how and why this happens and also give tips on treatment.
