OVER 200 STOLEN CAMELS FROM ISIOLO RECOVERED The Cabinet Secretary in charge of interior and coordination of national government Prof. Kithuure Kindiki has today presided over a brief ceremony of handing over 200 camels that were stolen from Burat area of Isiolo County last week to their rightful owners, following a security operation that led to their recovery in the neighboring County of Samburu. Addressing members of public at Mlango area when he handed over the camels to their owners, CS Kindiki reiterated the commitment of President Ruto’s administration to decisively deal with criminals and eradicate the age-old practice of cattle rustling before the end of his first term in office. He lauded the effort put in by the County Security teams from both Isiolo and Samburu Counties towards the recovery of the stolen animals, noting that the Ministry of Interior has an elaborate plan to reward the hardworking police officers and administration officers in order to motivate others to emulate them and work towards a crime-free society. Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo and Woman Rep Mumina Bonaya lauded CS Kindiki’s workmanship in coordinating the Government’s security affairs, noting that he clearly understood what is required of him, a fact that has led to clear results such as the recovery of stolen livestock and the silencing of guns in the region. Governor Guyo urged leaders from the neighboring County of Samburu to positively engage their people and sensitize them on the need to abandon the retrogressive practice of cattle rustling. He urged CS Kindiki to give the area leaders more time to recover other stolen animals and sanction a security operation for the same purpose in case their efforts prove futile.
