Stay tuned, because it's a very special story. The car was built in Germany by Opel in 1972 and then came to Croatia (then Yugoslavia) around 1977, more precisely to the Karlovac district, where, thanks to the mild climate and the absence of salt, it remained almost rust-free over the years. A father and son imported it to Slovenia around 2020 and restored it themselves at their home. Any work they couldn't do themselves was professionally done at a body shop and paint shop. The Kadett had already received its historic vehicle registration (H-plate) there. At the beginning of 2023, we (Autohandel Schmidt) brought the Kadett back to Germany. Over the years, we've further optimized and overhauled the car's mechanics and many other small details to our high standards. Then we had to get a new German registration with historic vehicle plates (H-plates) because the Slovenian registration wasn't valid within the EU!
