Evandro Gabriel Ferreira, 60, arrested on suspicion of involvement in the deaths of Rayane Lins Faria Campos, 38, and Leonardo de Oliveira Campos, 42, gave a statement to the police. In his statement, he claimed he had a long-standing dispute with the victims regarding the division of land and the construction of a wall. According to Evandro, the dispute between them had existed for about ten years and had even been taken to court. The suspect said he did not see the couple on the day of the crime and denied any involvement in the deaths. He stated that he went out with the dogs, returned home, consumed alcoholic beverages, took medication to sleep, and only noticed the police activity the following morning. During his statement, Evandro was also questioned about a weapon found in his house. The police seized a revolver hidden inside a humidifier, even after the suspect stated that he did not own any weapons.
