This is big cat country, and many big cat lovers stay at Satara so they can get an early morning start to look for Lion, Leopard and Cheetah. Satara Rest Camp is rich in bird life, especially in the summer months. Bird calls can be heard throughout the day, despite how busy this camp is. Satara Rest Camp is approximately half way between Tshokwane Picnic Spot and Olifants Rest Camp, and is in the heart of the Kruger National Park. There are some fascinating animals that come out after dark in Satara, including the resident African Wild Cat, Honey Badger, Genet and Civet. Scops Owls and Nightjars can be heard, while Hyena patrol the fence. We filmed all areas of Satara Rest Camp so you know what to expect, or just if you want to reminisce because you are missing the Kruger National Park.
