AVCA Video Tip of the Week: Three Setting Do’s and Don’ts
Penn State Associate Head Coach Salima Rockwell, a former setter (at Penn State and on the U.S. national team) who now works closely with setters as a coach, frequently sees these three bad habits from setters at the juniors level: 1) Hands up late before contacting the ball. 2) Jumping late when jump setting. 3) Back-pedaling to set balls passed behind them. In this video, Salima has Penn State setters Wilma Rivera and Bryanna Weiskircher demonstrate how to fix these issues.
