Keep On Running (Spencer Davis Group) #60smusic #coversong #blues
I was 10 years old when the Spencer Davis Group hit the top of the UK charts in January 1966. I had never heard music quite like this before and became a huge fan of this band. As is common knowledge, the band featured teenage prodigy Steve Winwood on lead guitar and vocals. He was only 17 years old when this classic was recorded. His brother Muff Winwood played one of the most distinctive bass lines ever. There original was a reggae number written and recorded by Jackie Edwards in 1965. What a classic!
